Ayurveda has been India's main method of medicine, both preventative & curative, for over 5,000 years. Its principles are simple; like increases like, unlike decreases like. (Heat increases heat, cold decreases heat)
Ayurvedic consultation differs from others. The physiological, physical & psychological aspects of the individual are all assessed to ascertain the Ayurvedic constitution (dosha). Treatment is then planned accordingly. Great emphasis is placed on the use of oils. Massage such as Abhyanga and Pinda Sweda are given. Lifestyle habits are reviewed. The aim is always to learn what creates imbalance and discomfort in the individual and then re-establish balance, health and vitality. Consultations are insightful and constructive. Treatments are luxurious, nurturing and healing.
The beauty of Ayurveda is that all treatments and advice are carefully considered to reflect your personal needs. An initial Ayurvedic consultation is required to progress onto a specific treatment for you. | | |

Generally it is a talking therapy which allows people to speak about their difficulties and issues in a safe and confidential space with a qualified practitioner. Holistic Body Massage is performed by a therapist who will be multi-skilled with different bodywork treatments. Working from a base of oil massage the therapist will use a more intuitive approach to the session. A good therapist will be able to feel on which level an imbalance exists and use energy and technique to rebalance.
A good example is a therapist who would use Aromatherapy oils to massage with Shiatsu, Swedish or Thai techniques, then allow Reiki healing to flow wherever it ‘switches on’. Crystal healing, sound therapy, guided meditations are all possible. These treatments are generally very nurturing, peaceful and have a restorative quality. | | |

Massage therapy based on the Ayurvedic tradition focuses on the head, neck and shoulders. It releases blocked energy, excellent for stress relief and promoting relaxation.
Through a variety of different techniques, the massage works to release any blocked negative energy in the body that may be manifesting itself as disease or injury in any one of the seven Chakras (energy centres) of the body.
Pressure is applied to certain points on the neck, shoulders and head that correspond to each Chakra (which is a similar approach to that of reflexology). There are many methods of meditation. Some very active, some totally passive and everything in between.
We recommend trying a few until you discover 'the one' for you!
The basic premise is that whatever technique you use, eventually you are able to observe the mind and body settle until they evenutually drop into a balanced state of awareness in which no one aspect of the self dominates.
Once in this peaceful state, the bodies natural healing mechanisms are activated. Stress simply ceases. Emotions dissipate. The body gradually, sometimes quickly, heals. Energy levels increase. Coping mechanisms improve. Overall balance is easier to maintain. the list of benefits are endless.
It is said that to maintain wellbeing we should meditate for 20 minutes a day. Busy people - 1 hour!!!!

Thai massage finds its roots in the Indian medicine system known as Ayurveda.
You are requested to wear loose comfortable clothing.
The massage works primarily on the Sen Energy lines of the body. The practitioner uses body weight to apply pressure to the reciepients body, focusing on opening energy lines. Pressure is applied through the use of thumbs, palms, elbows and feet.
A combination of acupressure, rocking, twisting and assisted yoga stretches create a steady meditative rhythm, gently restoring a deep sense of well-being. | | |

The word “yoga” is derived from the Sanskrit word ”yuj,” which means ”to unify” or ”to yoke.”
This origin of the word ”yoga” and the practice of yoga are closely related, since practicing yoga involves seeking to ”unite” your body, mind and spirit. Achieving this union allows you to connect with your inner self, leading to a sense of contentment and tranquility.
New to yoga? The initial practise is listening. Both to external instruction and internal feedback. I encourage all students to leave the competitve spirit outside. We all have different body history's. Unique.
The initial practise is to reach optimal stretch without strain. Here you find the experience of release of stored tension. Next is to synchromise the movement with the breath. Harmonise. Here your practise deepens. All levels of the being begin to purifiy.
