About Caroline

I have been a qualified counsellor since the beginning of the century in a variety of settings, and have often been described as being 'a safe pair of hands'. I provide adults with one to one counselling, allowing them to free themselves from old patterns and draw closer to the kind of life they would love to lead. This may happen by addressing life events, such as childhood issues or health challenges, or involve considering work life and direction.

My work has been deepened by my mindfulness and meditation practice. I now love to share these through teaching others, through clinical supervision and mindfulness training.

I offer one to one counselling to adults, as a means of enabling people to move out of the dark places in their lives, and into a place that can feel authentic and full of new potential. If you are looking to make changes in your life, and are willing to be an active participant in the process, this may well be the next step.

I am an accredited counsellor with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), and abide by their Code of Ethics. For 13 years I have been a qualified supervisor, of people in the helping professions.

There are many reasons that you may be considering counselling, from facing particular past or current events or relationship difficulties, to a general sense that there must be more to life. I have worked with a wide range of people and their challenges, as well as having particular expertise around life limiting illness (such as cancer), work related stress, and managing life changes.

I like to tailor my approach depending on what suits the person before me (known as an Integrative approach), and this can include:

Mindfulness One to one

Mindfulness involves cultivating practices that help us to connect gently and intentionally with the present moment, the only moment in which life actually happens! Its benefits are many, but include experiencing more moments of calm and exploring alternative ways of handling the inevitable difficulties in our lives.
I provide one to one sessions in Mindfulness. This can be an introduction, to see what it is about and whether it might suit you. However, I also take individuals through the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course, which is similar to the details below but provides personal tuition for 1.5 hours over 8 consecutive weeks. The cost for the whole individual course is 400, payable in advance.

I have supervised in a number of settings: AIPT services, workplace counselling, voluntary organisations, and complementary health teams. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or someone newly qualified, if you are looking for a new supervisor please feel free to make contact. We can arrange an initial meeting to see if we are a good fit.

Please note that I am also qualified, and have experience, of supporting nurses and complementary therapists with reflective practice.

This is an Introduction to Mindfulness Workshop that I run a couple of times a year. If you are interested in mindfulness and simply want to find out more about what it is then this is for you. You may have meditated before or be a complete beginner. This is a chance to bust those myths, find out the proven benefits & try a bit for yourself.

This mindfulness training courses is designed to cultivate awareness of our current states of mind and body, in a compassionate way. Through that awareness we are able to make better choices for ourselves, and frequently feel less stressed and more alive. It can enhance our relationship with both ourselves and those around us, and has been proven to help people with anxiety and depression.

Each course includes:
- 8 weekly classes
- Regular home practice
- Course materials

Follow up meetings are often arranged by agreement.

Caroline's Cancellation Policy

Any cancellations made 48 hours before your appointment will be fully refunded. Cancellations made before 24 hours of your appointment will be allowed a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will be fully charged. If you do not turn up for your appointment without cancelling beforehand you will be charged the full amount.
